Gregg Rosenthal and Nick Shook break down NFL matchups (Part 3)

Going to play. I'm like, oh, is that going to scare me away? It's not going to scare me away. Shook. Yeah, I mean, it's, it's one of those matchups where, like, the Raiders, the only way they've been competitive this year is if they put up a ton of points. And it's usually against defenses that have issues. Like, I think about, you know, Buffalo and that shootout that happened in Vegas that day. And I'm not worried about the Niners ability to stop them. Yes, I think it the only, the only concerning sign. I think about the games the Niners have played so far. I think about that game they played against the Cardinals where the Cardinals just wouldn't go away. And yes, comebacks. Yeah, yeah. Like that could be a backdoor cover opportunity for the Raiders, but I don't think it's going to be that close. So DeForest Buckner was not on the team then. I think that's been almost overlooked because of the other big trades. And we saw Jeffrey Simmons, he's going to add some juice. More importantly, Nick Bosa is going to be back on the field this week and Raheem Morris has done a really good job with this defense. And the last thing I'll say about this Raiders defense, I mean, they, if you just look at the last month and they're. They have the number 32 in all metrics defensively against the number one offense, essentially San Francisco. So as big a mismatch as you get. Just think about the seasons of these different players. They turned struggling 2026 Drake May into 2025 MVP runner up Drake May. They made 2026 Mahomes look like 2019 Mahomes for one week. They made Geno Smith look like Dan Fouts a week ago. They made Kyron Williams and Blake Corum look like. I mean, those two are pretty great, but who's a great tandem? D' Angelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart. Ooh, Bo Jackson and Marcus Allen. I don't know. Like, the Rams running game's good either way, but you get the idea. They stink. 49ers coming off the buy. Let's go with the heavy favorite. I like that we're locked in together. That's our first picks. All right, let's go with Shooks number two. Okay, this is where it gets a little more challenging because I'm thinking like, all right, I have burned myself in thinking that team looks terrible. There's no way they're going to win this game. I feel confident in the other team in the past. It's very much a week to week league, I think more this year than in recent years. And so I'm hesitant to do this, but I do like the Giants minus three and a half at the Eagles. Get in there, run the football against this defense that's been way worse than expected.
