Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones. Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live. And I will lay sinews upon you and bring up flesh upon you and cover you with skin and put breath in you, and ye shall live, and ye shall know that I am the Lord. And so that's exactly what happens. The bones are restored. They come together again. Breath is breathed back in them, and they live. Now, taken at face value, this scripture, this vision, is a beautiful vision of the. Of a resurrection. And a lot of people see that and they think, oh, yeah, that's a prophecy of resurrection. And it is. Let's keep in mind, prophets often testify of multiple things at the same time. But this can go even deeper than that, because right after that vision, now all of a sudden, Ezekiel's going to jump right into the prophecy about the Book of Mormon and the Bible coming together. He says, moreover. So on top of this, on top of this vision of the bones, look what else we have. Moreover, Thou, son of man, take the one stick and ride upon it for Judah and for the children of Israel, his companions. Then take another stick and ride upon it for Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel, his companions. Join them one to another, into one stick, and they shall be one in thine hand. Now, what's the purpose of this? What's the purpose of the two writings coming together? Take a look at verse 21. It says, and say unto them, thus saith the Lord God. Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen whither they be gone. And I will gather them on every side and bring them into their own land. These visions, these prophecies, yes, it's a prophecy of the resurrection. Yes, it's a prophecy of the Book of Mormon, but on top of that, it's a prophecy of the restoration of things being restored, being made whole. It's a prophecy of things being gathered together again. The dry bones are going to be gathered together and restored to their original frame. This is a prophecy of God gathering his children and restoring them to faith. Now, what I love about this and what I think is so special and important to realize is that God follows up this prophecy of the gathering, this prophecy of restoring people to faith.
